Classes overview
Puppy training classes are designed for three to six month old puppies. All puppy classes are six weeks long - each class is one hour long.
Puppy Class is primarily a socialization experience for puppies that are too young to go into formal training. It is also a learning experience for their owners.
Classes consist of basic puppy kindergarten training, using only rewards and positive reinforcements for shaping the appropriate and desired behaviors from the puppy. Each week the instructor will provide up-to-date information on a wide variety of health and behavior problems.
Dogs must be six months of age or older to enroll in the Beginning and Advanced classes. All adult dog classes are eight weeks long - each class is one hour long.
Beginning (Pre-Novice) Class consists of the basic obedience exercises: heel, sit, down, stay, stand, come, figure 8, long sit and long down. All exercises are done on leash. Class semesters are eight weeks long.
Dogs must successfully have completed the Beginning Obedience Class before being eligible to enroll in the Advanced Class.
Advanced (Novice) Class consists of eight weeks of training and will take up where the Beginning Class left off with the basic obedience exercises being further refined and polished. Off leash training will be taught.
Open Class is an advanced class for dogs that have earned a CD or UCD obedience title and wish to compete further in obedience trials.
